A word about pest control in general

Posted on: July 14, 2009

We at Arborx use a process termed 'Integrated Pest Management' (IPM). Quite simply, IPM considers everything from plant selection and integration, through environmental management to the ultimatequestion 'can we tolerate the effects of this pest without doing anything at all?'. If we can't, then what should we do? Obviously, often it is too late to consider plant selection; but we can influence and advise on maintenance and what if anything needs to be done as a control. We certainly do not want to kill every bug that comes near us or our plants. Many bugs are beneficial to us and even effectively control the ones that are less than beneficial. When control is necessary we will attempt to target only the particular pest we are confronted with and the control agent is not always chemical.
